The Ministry of Education and Science together with 11 Ukrainian and European universities will work on a project on countering hybrid threats. Its results will be used further for degree programs and teacher training.
This was discussed during the kick-off meeting of the “Academic Response to Hybrid Threat (WARN)” project which should be implemented within the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ Program “Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education”.
7 Ukrainian universities will work on the project implementation:
Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics;
Ukrainian Catholic University;
State University of Infrastructure and Technology;
National University Ostroh Academy;
National Academy of Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts;
Kharkiv Regional Institute of Public Administration;
Gorlovka Institute of Foreign Languages of Donbass State Pedagogical University.
Consortium members from European partners consists of:
University of Jyväskylä;
French Graduate School of Electrical Engineering;
Together the project partners will develop a secure civic environment in Ukraine.
In addition, the project should implement interdisciplinary and short-term certified educational programs aimed at countering hybrid threats, establishing expert infrastructure for interdisciplinary research and research-oriented education. It is envisaged that information security training modules will be built with the use of preventive learning technologies used in the artificial intelligence systems of European Union countries.
The project duration is 2019-2022.

December, 6, under the auspices of NewNous Data Science Lab, at a seminar in Science Park “Synergy”, head of Artificial Intelligence Department Professor Valentin Filatov gave a lecture on topic: “Data Models and Knowledge of Intelligent Information Systems” and associate professor of Artificial Intelligence Department, head of department information and analytical support, State Department of National Police in Kharkiv region, Dmitry Uzlov gave a lecture on topic: “RICAS – Realtime intelligence crime analytics system”.
The workshop was supported by Kharkiv ACM Chapter.

According to the CMU Resolution # 153 of 15.02.2002 and CMU Resolution # 629 of 28.08.2013 regarding the publishing the information on the signing the grant agreement by the recipient of the International Technical Support (ITS) on its own website, we inform that NURE will receive ITS in the form of a grant from the EU Erasmus program+ to implement the project “Academic Response to Hybrid Threats” (610133-EPP-1-2019-1-FI-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), valid from 15/11/2019 till 11/14/2022 and corresponding Grant Agreement #2013 / 001-00126/11/2019 was signed between Grant Agency EACEA and Project Grant Holder, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland.

The staff of both Artificial Intelligence and Economic Cybernetics Departments which are the team members of the project “Academic Response to Hybrid Threats” is participating in the event organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine for the winners of the Capacity Building of Higher Education Call 2019 funded by Erasmus+ programme.

University of Jaen provides our students with 2 additional places for studying during the spring semester of the 2019/2010 academic year.
We open the Call for the selection of candidates to study on the ICT program (UNESCO code 067) at the Spanish University of Jaén for students of the relevant study programmes.
Taking into account the curricula of the both universities the competition is opened for the students of the second year of education of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence study programmes.
To participate in the competition students should send CV and motivation letter until November 05, 2019 to the e-mail address of the project responsible person Liudmyla Titova (email@example.com).
Selection criteria (in order of preference):
- Academic performance of candidates
- Knowledge of English
- Lack of previous experience of participation in academic mobility projects
- The less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds (including internally displaced persons, etc.)
University of Jaén provides the selected students with a grant from the Erasmus+ project which contributes to travel and the cost of living. The tuition at UJA is free.

The project proposal “Academic Response to Hybrid Threats” has got a three-year grant from the EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme for Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education.
The project is one of eight Ukrainian winners of the competition. The goal of the project is to raise awareness and resilience of society to hybrid threats by academic means.
The project is to be implemented by consortium consisting of Ukrainian and EU universities coordinated by University of Jyväskylä. In particular, NURE inter-faculty team including experts from Artificial Intelligence and Economic Cybernetics and Economic Security Management Departments will contribute to the development of new interdisciplinary modules aimed at countering hybrid threats.
European partners will share their expertise in the field of hybrid security. Among them Hybrid Strategy Lab (the Netherlands) and European Center for Countering Hybrid Threats (Finland) – leading specialized institutions in EU.

From 15 to 19 July Prof. Olexandra Yeremenko (Department of Infocommunication Engineering) and international coordinator Liudmyla Titova (Artificial Intelligence Department) participated in the international training within Erasmus+ academic mobility programme at the University of Jaen (Spain). International Staff Week Erasmus+ united the representatives of universities from Eastern and Central Europe, North Africa and Asia around the common academic and cultural values, provided with opportunity to discuss the new internationalization trends as well as practical issues of academic mobility and enhancing the partnership.
Due to this Erasmus+ mobility project the students of NURE (Departments of Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Computers, Infocommunication Engineering) have got opportunity to study at UJA from 2018 till 2022. Of the other part the student from UJA finished his full year education at our University this July.
