The final stage of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Works on Artificial Intelligence has ended.

From November 27 to 30, 2023, the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky” hosted the final stage of the All-Ukrainian Competition of Student Scientific Works on Artificial Intelligence. It should be reminded that such a competition at the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was held for the first time.  

The final stage of the Competition was held in the format of a final scientific-practical conference, at which each of the participants (winners of the first stage) presented their work to an expert commission and answered questions.

Iryna Derevianko, a student of the DSM-22-1 group, represented NURE at this conference. According to the results of the first stage of the Competition, which took place in September-October, Iryna took the 1st place. At the final conference in Kyiv, Iryna presented her competition work titled “Decision support system for diagnosing using MRI images” – research supervisor Assoc. Prof. Oleh Zolotukhin. In her work, the author proposed an original solution to the problem of diagnosing knee joint pathologies based on deep learning, convolutional neural networks and the use of a specific distribution of magnetic resonance imaging slices.
