Completing the AI department bachelor’s thesis defences at the Artificial Intelligence Department this year coincides with the end of the entire academic year. So we can summarize some results.
This year, we’ve conducted 94 defences of bachelor’s qualification works, most of which have been graded as ‘excellent’ or ‘good ‘, a testament to the high quality of our students’ work.
The primary trend in choosing bachelor’s thesis topics remains a wide field of machine learning methods and models. However, alongside classical approaches, students are increasingly delving into the direction of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), including modern neural network architectures and Large Language Models (LLM).
As is known, 2023 was named the year of generative artificial intelligence, and its rapid development has undoubtedly been reflected in the titles and content of our students’ qualification works.
One standout bachelor’s thesis is by V. Mudrud, a student of group ITSHIz-20-1. Their work, titled ‘Web Application Virtual MMF Conference’, is a unique blend of ‘gamification’ and 3D graphics to enhance participant activity in the International Youth Forum.
The interactive web application, developed using the most modern technologies, aims to encourage students and postgraduates to participate in the Forum actively and also provides tools for convenient viewing and interaction with all historical and current materials of section №1 “Modern Problems of Computational and Artificial Intelligence” of conference №6 “Information Intelligent Systems” in the form of virtual rooms. The rooms, which imitate the natural conference environment, have stood with theses and presentations, diplomas and certificates, and valuable information, which users can familiarize themselves with in the virtual environment using their avatars. This approach provides users with a unique experience of virtual conferences, the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas, learn from each other, and work on joint scientific projects.
We congratulate all our students on their successful defences and the completion of the academic year! We wish everyone further professional success and new exciting projects!
