EUROPEAN VIRTUAL VENTURE PROGRAMME
Joint blended teaching of the course on entrepreneurship, “Commercialisation of Intellectual Systems”, has been delivered since 2006.
The programme is an integral part of the curriculum of the bachelor’s programme in AI of the AI Department and of the master’s programme in IT of ECAM-EPMI (Cergy, France).
Implementation:
The key Ukrainian and French experts jointly deliver the course in business planning “European Virtual Venturing” in the mode of teleconferences. The goal of this programme is the joint work of Ukrainian-French student groups on the development of business plans for products or services related to the AI field. Communication within the course is performed by means of teleconferences, which are provided by the radio-technology WiMAX and the videoconferences system Polycom VSX7000s or any other available technology and platforms for videoconferencing.

Ukrainian and French tutors together with entrepreneurs of the French Chamber of Commerce train our and French students to generate and to present ideas correctly, to investigate and to justify their economic attractiveness and competitiveness, to create international start-ups, to develop a strategy for entering the market and developing the business and to work within international teams.

At the end of course all students obtained the Certificates signed both universities and provides students with earned credits in terms of ECTS. This programme is unique business-incubator for young and promising start-up (university-based) companies and is a successful example of so called “home mobility”. It also promotes the development of internationalisation of education, intercultural relations and integration process.

In 2008, a group of French students took a week-long trip to KhNURE, where they completed and finalized their business plans in person with Ukrainian students, having started the development process online. They then presented and defended their plans before a professional jury. Top managers from Ukrainian IT companies held a series of meetings with the Ukrainian-French student audience, during which they spoke about the specifics of joint business in Ukraine, the state of the IT services market, its demand, and directions for development. The French students also became acquainted with Ukrainian culture and cuisine, and, together with the Ukrainian students, enjoyed lively evening student activities.
