NURE Strengthens International Cooperation within the Horizon EU Framework
22 June 2025
Representatives from two departments — the Department of Informatics and the Artificial Intelligence Department — participated in events held at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (North Macedonia) from June 2 to June 5, 2025, within the framework of the EU Horizon Europe project “INITIATE: Supporting European R&I Through Stakeholder Collaboration and Institutional Reform” (Grant Agreement No. 101136775).
The event was designed to combine an official meeting, study activities, and project workshops, ensuring synergy between the projects of the host university and, in particular, NURE (JoInME project). The programme included:
- The General Assembly of consortium members to report on the results of the first project year, plan tasks for the second project year, and prepare for the interim report;
- An expert seminar on entrepreneurial skills and business plan development, during which Mariia Golovianko, Associate Professor of the AI Department, delivered a lecture for the students of the host university and project members on the topic: “Joint Multidisciplinary Entrepreneurship Training Programme in AI for Industry 5.0,” based on 20 years of experience teaching the European Virtual Venture programme. The lecture recording has been added to the project Knowledge Hub;
- A workshop on applying interdisciplinarity in higher education as a core project approach to facilitate the green transition and digital transformation;
- A workshop analyzing Horizon Europe and LIFE program calls relevant to the project’s topics.
The outcomes of the event can be described as useful, interesting, and inspiring for further development of project results and their expansion into new forms of collaboration.
