A student of the Artificial Intelligence Department participated in a hackathon in Zurich.

In May 2025, Zakhariy Bolotnikov, a student of the Artificial Intelligence Department, took part in a prestigious hackathon in Zurich that brought together young researchers and enthusiasts.

The challenge of this year’s competition was to develop an artificial intelligence model capable of detecting fake news—one of the most pressing issues in today’s information space. During the intensive event, Zakhariy’s team explored methods of automated text analysis, natural language processing, and source classification.

Participating in the hackathon provided valuable experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and offered an opportunity to apply the knowledge gained during studies in real-world conditions.
