Over the weekend, a remarkable event took place for the first-year students of the Artificial Intelligence Department. Dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the University, the excursion was organized to visit the famous Kharkiv collection of military equipment models.

This collection always attracts great interest among young people and serves as a powerful tool not only for technical education but also for fostering patriotism. For students who are just beginning their journey in higher education, it was an opportunity to gain a new perspective on the connection between modern science and the country’s defense capability.

The future AI specialists were particularly fascinated by the modern examples of military technology that have become symbols of courage on the battlefield. Among them were the F-16 multirole fighter jet, which has become the new shield of the Ukrainian sky; the Bayraktar strike drone, which has revolutionized artillery warfare; the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, known for its precision and devastating power; as well as modern tanks, armored personnel carriers, and more.

“For our first-year students, this was not just an excursion — it was their first step toward understanding how their future profession can contribute to the defense of the state,” said Larysa Chala, the organizer of the excursion. “Developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and radio electronics are now more relevant than ever on the front lines. Seeing this direct connection between studying at NURE and real support for the army is the best motivation.”

Cultivating in young people a love for their homeland, respect for defenders, and an understanding of today’s realities is an integral part of the educational process.

The excursion left students with vivid impressions and a clear realization that their future technical innovations could become real weapons in the struggle for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
