The regular meeting of the department’s scientific seminar was held on April 15, 2025.

During the seminar, a pre-defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 122 – Computer Science, field of knowledge 12 – Information Technologies, was conducted by the PhD student of the Artificial Intelligence Department, Hlib Yuriiovych Tereshchenko.
The topic of the dissertation is “Hybrid Model of Image Storage in Big Data Environments.”

The dissertation is devoted to an urgent scientific task — the development of methods for constructing a hybrid image storage model in big data environments, which is of significant importance for the advancement of computer science, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.

The relevance of this research lies in the growing need for reliable and secure methods to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information in the field of data storage.
Given the rapid development of technologies for creating, processing, and storing images, there is a strong demand for secure and reliable systems that allow the safe storage and exchange of data.
The use of blockchain technologies can be highly beneficial in addressing challenges related to the storage and processing of large-scale image datasets.

The PhD candidate was asked a number of questions, to which he provided well-reasoned answers and explanations.
Following this, a discussion took place with the participation of O.V. Zolotukhin, N.V. Riabova, and V.O. Filatov.
The scientific advisor, Dr. Sci. (Tech.), Professor, and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department K.S. Smeliakov, also took the floor. He emphasized that during his postgraduate studies, Hlib Tereshchenko acquired a broad range of research competencies, including:
— the ability to independently formulate and creatively solve complex scientific problems,
— the capacity to analyze and apply modern computer technologies,
skills in preparing and implementing research projects, and
practical experience in applying computer technologies.

After hearing the public presentation of the dissertation results by Hlib Yuriiovych Tereshchenko and discussing it at the seminar of the Artificial Intelligence Department, the participants concluded that the dissertation “Hybrid Model of Image Storage in Big Data Environments” possesses scientific novelty and has theoretical and practical significance for obtaining the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science (specialty 122), field of knowledge 12 – Information Technologies.
