First-Year Students’ Celebration at the AI Department

This year, the ceremonial Initiation of Students at NURE went beyond the university’s walls and took place on the stage of the Mykola Lysenko Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (KhNATOB). For first-year students of the Artificial Intelligence Department, this day became a true induction into the great family of intellectuals and innovators. The stunningly beautiful and festive atmosphere added a special sense of elevation to the event, as the student anthem “Gaudeamus” rang out through the hall, uniting recent applicants and faculty in a shared surge of pride for their alma mater.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov addressed the audience with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of young talent for the city’s recovery and development, as did NURE Rector Ihor Ruban, who wished the students a truly engaging student life despite all of today’s challenges. A special moment was the first introduction to the department’s leadership: Dean of the Faculty Oleh Zolotukhin and Head of the AI Department Larysa Chala spoke about current areas of study and the research, international, and career opportunities open to students from their very first year. Representatives of the trade union committee and the student senate kept the atmosphere lively and warm, inviting everyone to get involved in active student life.
