28 May 2026
On May 27, 2026, the Department of Artificial Intelligence, the Department of Informatics, and the Department of Information Systems and Technologies held a stakeholder workshop within the framework of the Horizon INITIATE – Supporting European R&I Through Stakeholder Collaboration and Institutional Reform project. The workshop focused on transformative artificial intelligence.
The organisers shared the project’s developments related to the digital and green transition. Associate Professor of the AI Department, Mariia Golovianko, presented the new research laboratory, Transformative AI, its objectives, and proposals for collaboration to create an open and effective innovation ecosystem that brings together academia, industry, and civil society in the fields of energy and digital transition.
An interactive survey moderated by Oleh Kobylin, Head of the Informatics Department, fostered an engaging discussion on pressing issues related to the application of transformative AI technologies and to cooperation with the laboratory. Invited stakeholders, mainly founders of IT companies and representatives of IT and business associations, shared their views and proposals, emphasizing the particular need for the dissemination of knowledge — especially in the field of AI — possessed by NURE researchers and staff.
Among other suggestions were developing joint projects, strengthening networking activities, and involving government representatives in knowledge exchange initiatives. All proposals and comments will be analysed and incorporated into the laboratory’s action plan.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the NGOs and Associations “Ukrainian Association of IT Professionals and Companies” and “Ukrainian Association for Management Development and Business Education,” as well as representatives of the IT companies Sloboda Studio, Software Expert, Sytoss, and DataArt.
We are grateful to everyone who joined this initiative, which contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
